Born without the wings every other bat seemed to have, he often wondered whether something important was missing from him. While the other creatures explored the night sky, he remained below, watching the moon and imagining what the world might look like from above the trees.

Luna understood him better than anyone.

When the time came to save Fairy Town, her magic finally gave the little bat the wings he had dreamed about. But his greatest discovery came moments before he ever left the ground. He realized he had always been a bat, wings or no wings.

His first flight simply gave him another way to be himself.
